Carnotaurus from Prehistoric Planet - Forests

Carnotaurus 1

Their members include the larger Majungasaurus, Masiakasaurus, and Carnotaurus. Carnotaurus were the fastest flesh-eating dinosaurs, reaching speeds of up to 56 km/h. Carnotaurus and other abelisaurids had tiny forelimbs and only relied on hind limbs for movement. Member of abelisaurs are called Masiakasaurus. Their front teeth point forward unlike other predatory dinosaurs. It is interpreted that Masiakasaurus was specialized for catching and tearing fish and small aquatic prey. Bite marks on Majungasaurus fossils match perfectly with the teeth of their own kind, providing the first direct evidence of cannibalism on a dinosaur. The abelisaurs are number 3 in the Most Dinosaur oddballs, with the fact that Masiaksaurus is number 1 of the Most dinosaur jaws.
